Construction Industry Development Board was established under the Construction Industry Development Board Act 1994 (Act 520) to establish, regulate, enforce and carry out other duties related to the construction industry. In 2012, the Act was amended to strengthen the role of the CIDB in enforcement of regulations which can ensure the quality and safe construction as well as to improve best practices in the construction industry.
