This immensely beautiful and short trek is specially designed for people who do not have a lot of time to do long trekking, but still want to engage in a short and light journey and experience the Nepalese Himalayas.

Dhampus Sarangkot Trek is one of the shortest, yet most classic treks in Nepal. It passes through country inhabited by a wide diversity of people. It offers spectacular mountain scenery and takes you north of Annapurna & Mt. Machhapuchare (Fishtail) ranges. This region is heavily settled and farmed.

Sarangkot is an ideal vantage point to view both a sunrise and sunset within the majestic Himalayan range. You will have views of mountains from Dhaulagiri, and Annapurna, including the magnificent Mt. Machhapuchare (Fishtail). Sarankot village is perched on the North West of Pokhara with enchanting views of Pokhara Valley and the Phewa Lake.

This is not only a remarkable trek, but one of the most popular treks in Nepal. It passes through beautiful countryside inhabited by highly diversified communities of people. This region is heavily settled by the mid hills tribe “Gurungs.” Gurungs are the famous Gurkha soldiers in the British, Indian, and Nepalese Army. This trek offers excellent scenery encompassing the HimalayanRange to give an encompassing taste to the trekking in Nepal, in a short amount of time.

Day by day detailed itinerary

Day 01 Trek start from Phedi (1130m) to Dhampus (1650 m) – walking 3 ½ hrs
You will be picked up from your hotel in Pokhara and transfer to Phedi (trekking start pint) in a private vehicle (approx 1 hrs drive). Our walk to Dhampus village takes us past terraced hillsides and then up to the hilltop village of Dhampus, where we’ll meet a mix of Gurung, Brahman, and Magar people. The distinctive peak of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Annapurna South are fantastic view seen from here.

 Day 02 Trek from Dhampus to Sarangkot (1,592m)
Today descend to the Surkhet River and then ascend to Naudhada to take in the fabulous view while we stop for lunch. After lunch the trek to Sarangkot is three hours.

Sarangkot sits north of Pokhara and overlooks the valley and Fewa Tal. This village is best known for its sunrise where on a clear day you have an unobstructed view of the Annapurna range, Dhauligiri, and Fishtail Mountain. Another attraction here is to spend an hour paragliding (extra cost) to really view the mountains and the city below or experience the Nepali culture by taking a three hour tour around the city and meet the locals and see how they live.

Day 03 Sarangkot – Pokhara
Descending to Pokhara you will pass through the Schima-Catonopsis forest with many opportunities for bird watching. The last trek to Phewa Lake is two hours . Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Pokhara for the afternoon at leisure. Pokhara is a lively trade route city beautifully situated on Lake Phewa. The rare combination of snow clad peaks and snowfed lakes and rivers has made the Valley of Pokhara one of the most picturesque natural attractions in the Kingdom.
